Can a small female become an EMT?

I'm only 4'8" and weigh about 95 lbs. I have, however, gotten by NREMT/LA county EMT certification and planning to apply to work in LA county. Does anyone know the fitness requirements of EMT companies in LA? I plan to work out so I can do at least the minimum lifting requirements.
